Cannabis Industry Professional Certificate Program Steps

Step 1: Complete required virtual courses

Participants must complete and pass the following online courses:

  • Packaging, Labeling, & Product Approval
  • Good Manufacturing Practices & Quality Assurance
  • Employee Protections
  • Compliance & Inspections
  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • Patient Engagement
  • Product Testing Requirements

Step 2: Attend level II advanced in-person training

Participants must complete three (3) contact hours of in-person training through elective courses provided by MCA’s Workforce Development Program.

Approved elective courses include:

  • Level II Processing: Rosin Extraction and Formulations
  • Level II Cultivation: Advanced Cultivation Series at University of Maryland- Eastern Shore

Step 3: Pass certification examination

Participants must pass the CIP certification examination. A minimum score of 85% on the examination is required to complete and receive the certificate.
