About Workforce Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships
The Workforce Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships (WISP) Division of the Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA):
- Builds connections between cannabis industry stakeholders and community groups
- Provides cannabis industry workforce development training, and
- Manages policy development, data and reporting pertaining to cannabis industry workers
By cultivating partnerships with stakeholder groups—including institutions of higher education, cannabis businesses and grassroots organizations—WISP supports MCA's broader mission to foster a high-quality and inclusive cannabis industry and monitors the fulfillment of social equity licensee diversity plans.
The vision of the WISP division is to promote and encourage statewide partnerships that connect the work of the MCA to diverse communities and to foster a skilled, diverse and well informed cannabis industry workforce.
