Participants are added into the Workforce Development Virtual Academy are added on a rolling basis. Please allow 7 business days from your confirmation to being invited to the Virtual Academy.

Yes, in order to follow your progress it is very important that you use the same email address for each registration and form.

Once you complete the Workforce Development Virtual Academy you will receive information about next steps via email.

As of January 2025, all 2-Day In-Person Training Session are at capacity. Waitlists are available.

• ​Yes, upon completion of the Workforce Development Virtual Academy you will receive a link to join any remaining waitlists.
• Please allow up to 7 business days after completion of the course to receive this email.

All In-Person Event Registrations are done through Eventbrite. To check your ticket status, log into your Eventbrite account or check your email for a confirmation from Eventbrite.

• No, completing the Virtual Academy is a requirement to attend the 2-Day In-Person Sessions.
• Participants are only eligible to attend 2-Day In-Person Training Sessions after receiving a confirmation email from Eventbrite. Participants who have not registered through Eventbrite will be denied entry to training session.

Yes; Lunch is provided by the MCA on both days of the training session.

Each session is 2 days, from 9 am until 5 pm each day.

No, all decisions involving hiring are made solely by the employer. MCA cannot guarantee job placement as a result of this program.

• Yes, you are eligible for Job Placement Assistance once you have completed the Workforce Development Virtual Academy.
• If you have completed the Workforce Development Virtual Academy and would like assistance with the Agent Badging process, Fingerprinting, and Responsible Vendor Training, you must first indicate that you have begun the application process by providing a PDF document such as a recent email confirmation of a submitted application.

The Maryland Cannabis Administration (formerly Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission) was established in 2014 to develop policies, procedures, and regulations to implement the medical cannabis program and ensure medical cannabis is available to qualifying patients in a safe and effective manner. In 2023, the Administration became an independent agency, that now oversees all licensing, registration, inspection, and testing measures pertaining to Maryland's medical and adult-use cannabis industry and provides​​ relevant program information to patients,  adult consumers, providers, growers, processors, dispensaries, independent testing laboratories, and ancillary businesses.

The WISP​ Division works to promote and facilitate participation by diverse groups within the industry, including minority and women-owned businesses. A diverse and equitable cannabis industry benefits and serves our community. Cannabis Business Owners, Cannabis Industry Workers, and Marylanders in general, all stand to benefit from more equitable practices in this growing and rapidly evolving market.
